FR / Tout est chaos est une auto-édition mélant texte et les images des archives familiales. J’ai récupéré des photo prises par ma mère quand j’étais petite et j’ai détourné leur sens en les associant à des brèves journalistiques, des titres ou des nouvelles entendus dans l’actualité au moment où j’ai construit cette histoire. Le livre dépeint un monde chaotique où tout va de mal en pie. Se situant entre le sensationalisme dont le médias peuvent faire preuve et la forme du conte pour enfant, ce travail questionne notre rapport aux photographies vernaculaires et la manière dont on peut les rendre universelle en les sortant du contexte familiale et en leur donnant une autre lecture, entre mélancolie et cynisme.
ENG / Tout est chaos (Everything is chaos) is a self-published work combining text and images from the family archives. I recovered photos taken by my mother when I was little and I diverted their meaning by associating them with journalistic briefs, titles or news heard in the news when I built this story. The book depicts a chaotic world where everything goes from bad to worse. Positioned between the sensationalism that the media can demonstrate and the form of a children’s story, this work questions our relationship to vernacular photographs and the way in which they can be made universal by taking them out of the family context and giving them another reading, between melancholy and cynicism.
